Although produced for preservation, these paper folders - encrusted in these works with acidic glue and powdered salt, paprika, sulfur, and lamp black will eventually disintegrate.

The rust from the iron desk penetrates the salt hand, and salt from the hand corrodes the metal, resulting in a very gradual disintegration.
